T.O. signs off.

Terrell Owens and his dance partner Cheryl Burke were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars last Monday. That night they performed two routines: one a Charleston and second a trio. While Owens struggled in rehearsal with the dance he impressed the judges come showtime.

“Out of all of our celebrities no one has improved from week one as much as you,” Len Goodman said.

They scored 27/30 receiving a nine from each judge. It seemed Owens was getting things together at the right time.

“What I love is you’re peaking at the right moment,” Carrie Ann Inaba told Owens after performing the Charleston.

However, it appeared Owens peaked a little too late as his scores the week prior placed him at the bottom of the leaderboard. By the show’s end last Monday Terrell and Cheryl were sent home.

“I had a great time, she (Cheryl) was a great teacher. I couldn’t have asked for anything more,” Owens said before the end of the show.

The next day the two appeared on Good Morning America to reflect on their experience. After the two had performed the Viennese Waltz, which Owens dedicated to his late grandmother, Burke knew they would make it far in the competition.

“I think Terrell is just a hardworker and this is why I love working with athletes. They don’t take anything I say too personal,” Burke said on GMA. “I’m pretty tough, I’m hardcore, and that’s because I see potential in Terrell and I knew that he had it in him.”

The two showcased that during week six when they received a 37/40 on movie night after performing the “jive.” That week they cracked the top three of the leaderboard.

During the interview on GMA the studio played a video of Kelly Monaco, who Owens and Burke performed with for their trio dance which wound up being their final dance.

“I am so proud of you guys. I think that you did an amazing job. You made it so far in this competition. And I want to thank you for giving me the time of my life to be included in the trio dance,” Monaco said.

Owens expressed his gratitude with a tweet to summarize what this experience meant to him.

“There r moments in life that we all cherish forever and sharing the dance floor with u on DWTS is one I’ll never forget. Thank you. ❤️🕺🏾💃🏻,” Owens tweeted.

Hours before the first episode without Owens he took to Instagram how far he came.

“It’s obvious by this post that I’m reminiscing about last week’s performances. I’m so proud of myself in what I was able to accomplish by simply committing and saying to myself ‘I CAN,'” Owens posted on Instagram. “Thank you @cherylburke for seeing the potential in me to push me, challenge me & teach me. U taught a guy with a competitive spirit with no ballroom dance experience become a ballroom dancer. We lasted 8 of 10 weeks. We may have been eliminated but not without a fight. Love you! #dwts#desire #dedication #discipline #prototype #dance #ballroomdance#charleston #fun”
