King James lifts “The Land” to victory with a 57 point performance.

After losing four straight the former four-time NBA MVP LeBron James, who has led his team to eight consecutive NBA Finals, willed his team to victory Friday. In a showdown in the nation’s capitol Cavaliers won 130-122 where James picked up a double-double grabbing 11 boards. He also dished out seven assists.

“You just want to get the monkey off your back…when you’re on a losing streak,” James told reporters after the game. “For us to get a win like this early in the season is key for our team.”

So what encouraged James to take so many shots this game to find his rhythm?

“They played me a lot of one-on-one [situations] in the low post and I’ve been working quite a bit on my turnarounds and my fadeaways,” James said. “Every shot that I took it felt like it was going in…staying discipline with my shots.”

Longtime friend and teammate of James Dwyane Wade spoke of watching King James tie Cavaliers point record.

“Every night he’s dominant but that right there shows what everyone talks about, being the best player in the game,” Wade told reporters post game. “When he’s in that kind of rhythm, that kind of mindset, there’s no one on this Earth that can stop him.”

Winning lifts the team to a 4-5 record. While JR Smith has voiced frustration over Cavaliers plans this season, James says he’s not worried about that. With the early struggles this season James is just trying to focus on aligning the efforts of seven new members of the team, James said.

Communication on the floor was one of the keys to victory Friday night and a step in a good direction for the team, Wade said.

James also became the seventh player in NBA history to surpass the 29,000 career points mark and the youngest to do so, Friday.
