Hollywood stars show out in New Orleans during a red carpet event headlined by OWN Network.
The cast of Oprah Winfrey Network’s Greenleaf and Ava Duvernay’s Queen Sugar stunned on the red carpet this past Friday, August 11. This event powered by OWN was a prelude to an A&E reception during the 2017 National Association of Black Journalists 42nd annual Convention in New Orleans.
Before Greenleaf aired its day one of its two-day midseason premiere Tuesday Lynn Whitfield (A Thin Line Between Love and Hate & Eve’s Bayou), Merle Dandridge (Sons of Anarchy & The Night Shift) and Lamman Rucker (Why Did I Get Married? & All My Children) were in attendance.
While the show will be picking up with the second half of season two this month, the show has already been contracted for a third season, according to EBONY Magazine.
In addition to OWN’s Greenleaf cast being present during the red carpet, there were several cast members from NAACP Image award winning program Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar who showed up.
Strutting on the carpet for Queen Sugar was Dawn-Lyen Gardner (Luke Cage), Tina Lifford (Scandal & Hostage) and Omar J. Dorsey (The Blind Side & Setup).
As of earlier this summer, Queen Sugar has been signed on for a season three, according to deadline.com.
