Minneapolis will host Super Bowl LII in their 2016 newly built US Bank Stadium that cost over $1 billion. This will be the first Super Bowl in Minnesota since 1992 when the state held Super Bowl XXVI in the Metrodome. Before the unfortunate passing of Prince, he was rumored to perform on the big stage in his home state. Now with the 2018 Super Bowl approaching, one question being promoted is: who’s going to perform in the Super Bowl now?

Lopez on The Ellen Show addressed rumors that has been linking her to perform in the Super Bowl. Now that she’s finished shooting season two of NBC’s Shades of Blue, which is now airing Sunday nights, she will return to perform in Vegas. Now that she’s performing again, would she be interested in performing at halftime during the world’s most televised event?

“I think people want me to do it? I don’t know, there’s always rumors about it,” Lopez said. “I have no idea, I don’t know. If they asked me it would be awesome. I think my dad would have an attack, he’d be so happy.”

Performing on the grandest stage with the entire world watching her would be no pressure for JLo.

“I’d be so excited,” Lopez said. “I love performing live.”

Prince would have been the ultimate show for Minnesotans but JLo would be a popular alternative.
