Brandon Marshall will stay in the Big Apple after all.
The 32-year old wide receiver will sign with the New York Giants after getting word last week that he’d be released from the New York Jets. The 11-year veteran moved to Brooklyn last year while playing in his second season with the Jets and should be staying for another two years’ worth $12 million, according to NFL network’s Ian Rapoport.
Marshall has yet to make the postseason in his career and will now join forces with two-time NFL Champion quarterback Eli Manning. His expected signing will bring a three headed monster at the receiver position for the “G –Men,” alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard. Marshall is a six-time Pro Bowler and should give the Giants a boost next season coming off a playoff appearance and cutting ties with longtime wideout Victor Cruz earlier this offseason.
Giants will be the journey man’s fifth NFL team as he had stints with Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears and Jets.
Since the NFL free agency period doesn’t begin until 4 p.m. ET, Thursday, March 8, Marshall will not officially be able to sign the dotted line until then.
