Remy Ma: Nicki Minaj started it, “shEther” is the response

Remy Ma dresses for a funeral talking with Wendy Williams about Nicki Minaj dis track.

Dropping two hate tracks on Minaj, “Another One” and “shEther,” Remy Ma opens up about how the beef began speaking with Williams on The Wendy Williams talk show Friday, March 3. Along with Remy Ma, Fat Joe was in the house and after briefly talking about the Grammy’s Williams dove right in to ask about the Remy Ma vs. Nicki Minaj feud.

Minaj brought “shEther” on herself based on how she disrespected other female artists like Lil Kim, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, Remy Ma said. Disrespect she is referring to are things that has been going on behind the scenes, not through Minaj’s music.

“It wasn’t necessarily the little subliminal stuff on records because I don’t care about records. I spoke to her before and you’re supposed to say ‘you the best’ or ‘better than me or whatever,’” Remy Ma said. “It was the behind the scenes things that you people will never know about, as far as trying to keep me off the red carpet and trying to make sure awards don’t go to me or she’s not going to be in attendance, trying to make bad reports about my album sales.”

The foul approach by Minaj was not going to sit well with Remy Ma.

“I just came home from prison. I don’t want no problems with anybody…[but] when you are trying to stop me from taking care of my children, I have a problem with that,” Remy Ma said. “Someone once said when they were in a rap battle ‘you gotta be careful who you chose your battles with.’”

The seven minute hate track “shEther” still has Williams in shock, who says she has re-winded and played that track many times, and asked Remy Ma if it’s too late for Minaj to respond.

“I’m not waiting for anything, I said what I said, I have my album ‘Plata O Plomo’ out, I’m working on my solo projects,” Remy Ma said. “I go home to my husband, my kids…it is what it is and I know what I did.”

Remy Ma dressed in all black prompted Williams to suggest she is dressed for a funeral.

“My grandmother told me to never speak ill of the dead, we’re just going to leave this conversation alone and move on,” Remy Ma said.

No longer speaking on Minaj, it’s safe to say Remy Ma has killed Minaj in this rap battle that has left Minaj speechless since “shEther.”

“Best female rapper in the game,” Fat Joe said of Remy Ma.

“shEther” is available on iTunes.
