Jennifer Lopez brings viewers up to speed on Shades of Blue before tonight’s season 2 premiere.
NBC’s Shades of Blue series premiered last spring starring Lopez (American Idol & Enough), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Warren Kole (The Avengers) and Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos). The show is about a single mother cop named Harlee Santos (Lopez) who is forced to work with the FBI and agent Robert Stahl (Kole) for immunity. Harlee reports to the FBI the corrupt tactics her precinct has been involved in, secretly betraying a force she feels is her family in attempt to protect herself and her daughter Cristina (Sarah Jeffery).
Those who need a refresher on season 1, Lopez has it covered.
In season 2 Lopez says Liotta’s character will bring it up a notch.
“Ray is intense as hell and scary at times,” Lopes told Jimmy Fallon last week. “This season is crazier than last season.”
With the second season picking up right where the first season left off, Lopez describes the season as a “storm.”
“This season is quite like a storm, a tornado, it’s like a hurricane, a lot going on,” Lopez said on The Today Show.
She further described that this is not your average cop show.
“It’s more about humanity and the things that people do. How we are good but do questionable things, with always the kind of right intentions but messing it up a little bit, it’s very human,” Lopez said.
Shades of Blue airs 10 p.m. EST on Sundays.
