Fat Joe and Remy Ma are not happy walking away empty handed at the Grammy’s.

“All the Way Up,” Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s hit featuring French Montana was nominated for two Grammy’s Sunday, February 11. One for Best Rap Song that went to Drake’s song “Hotline Bling.” The second for Best Rap Performance that went to “No Problem,” a track by Chance the Rapper featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.

Fat Joe posted on Instagram a message shortly after that went viral with fans thinking he was taking a shot at Chance the Rapper. In an interview with The Breakfast Club he explained he was disappointed with the outcome but wasn’t taking a shot at the hip-hop artist he calls himself a fan of.

With Chance the Rapper being on Grammy poster boards in Los Angeles Remy Ma said she had a sense he would get the award.

“What I can say is I’m a fan of Chance the Rapper. I feel…he could have won Verse of the Year on any category with the [Life of] Pablo [track], ‘Ultralight Beam.’ That verse was from God,” Fat Joe said.

Best Rap Performance should have gone to Desiigner for “Panda,” says Remy Ma.

“I didn’t expect ‘All the Way Up’ to win for Best Rap Performance. Best Rap Song, I feel like we should have won Best Rap Song. Do I think Hotline Bling? [Drake] didn’t even rap on that song,” Remy Ma said.

Addressing his post on Instragram, Fat Joe was referencing Chance the Rapper’s verse on Kanye West song from the “Life of Pablo” album when he said “you got to sell it to get the Grammy.”

“I had to make fun about it because we lost. What, we gone act like the elephant in the room? We didn’t lose? We lost. We gotta man up…or we can make fun of that,” Fat Joe said. “I didn’t throw no subliminal messages at Chance, I’m actually a fan of Chance the Rapper.”

The nominee was Fat Joe’s fifth nomination for a Grammy.

“I’m tired of nominations.”
